Staying hydrated at school
Please help your child stay hydrated in school by sending them with a fresh water bottle daily. Water is essential to your child’s health and should make up the majority of their fluid intake.
Please avoid sending your students with any sports beverages, soda, coffee drinks, or energy drinks such as Gatorade, Prime, etc. These can contain empty calories, sugars, caffeine, unnecessary chemicals, and dyes. Some of these beverages may not be recommended for consumption by children under age 18, as they can contribute to problems related to nervousness, trouble sleeping, stomach aches, and headaches.
We will help by reminding students to bring their water bottles and they can fill them at the school filling station.
Water is best for supporting cognition, preventing dental problems, and maintaining a healthy weight! For more information, see https://kidshealth.org/en/parents/power-drinks.htmlAPRIL FACULTY AND STAFF MEMBER of THE MONTH
CONGRATULATIONS TO MS. JOERRES, GRADE 1 TEACHER
Here are some great things to know about Ms. Joerres:
My goal is to continue to learn new ways to support my students to succeed both academically and socially and to be the best teacher I can be! Being a life-long learner is very important to me and my goal is to continue to learn from my students and colleagues, as well as to take classes each year to improve my teaching practices.
One of my major accomplishments was receiving my Master’s Degree in Reading and Literacy and earning my Reading Specialist license.
My students motivate me. I love seeing the look on their faces when they are excited to be learning something new! Also, my son inspires me to be creative and embrace adventure!
I love going to the beach, shopping, and reading. My favorite thing to do is to spend time with my family and friends!
“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”-Benjamin Franklin
CONGRATULATIONS TO MS. SHANLEY, ESP
One goal that I have is to graduate from Bridgewater State University with a Bachelor's degree in Special Education. I accomplished getting my associates degree in the fine arts at Massasoit Community College in 2020.
My colleagues and students inspire me to become a great teacher.
I love to hike, paddle board, camp, and spend time with my family, friends and my three dogs.
