PTO Information

What an awesome event for our students. A huge thank you to our PTO officers, volunteers, and the teachers for making this such a great fundraiser. We exceeded our goal of $15,000 which will go directly toward the purchase of playground equipment. Because the students met their goal, Mr. Brown will spend a full day up on the roof of Potter Gray!!! Great job to everyone! You ROCK!

Early Morning Care Update

I want to provide an update on Early Morning Care (EMC).

EMC at Potter Gray is offered to families who absolutely need to drop their children off between 7:00 & 7:15AM. PG is the only school in the district to offer this to families. We will continue to offer this service to families at no cost.

Meetings and conversations took place with outside organizations to see if an outside provider would be appropriate for this type of care. It is my feeling that the additional cost, especially those with 2-3 children, would put a hardship on our families. The decision has been made to continue EMC as it has been run in years prior. The individual running EMC will be compensated for their time by the school.

Moving forward, students should not be dropped off for EMC out of convenience, this is a service provided to those who truly need it. If you are a family who needs EMC, please click here to complete the form for entry. If you have already completed the form you do not need to make another entry.

All parents dropping their children off after 7:15 AM must go to the rear of the building and wait until 7:30 for car rider duty to begin.

School Security Updates

Our new Ident-A-Kid system is in place and is ready to go! Please remember to bring your KY Drivers License, KY-ID or, if you don't have either of those, a photo ID will work. You will need to check-in in order to enter the building.

Because of new legislation in place with SB1, there are many good changes to our security procedures to help keep our students safe. Thank you for your understanding with the why we have to use this system and why your ID is required. Its not meant to keep you from coming in, its meant to keep the wrong people out and your children safe. We will continue to update you as new safety procedures are updated throughout the school year.

Car Rider Line Information

Please remember a couple of very important items when going through the car rider line in the morning & afternoon.

  • Do not drop off students in the front loop between 7:15-8:10 AM. Please use the car rider line.
  • Please get in line using Wakefield Street, not Bastel Street.
  • Pull all the way up and around the loop. (AM & PM)
  • Keep your car rider tag in the window until your child is loaded.
  • Please stay in the car when children are loading on the passenger side. If you need to buckle your child(ren) in, please pull up and around to the grassy area to do so.

Good Morning Potter Gray Information

GMPG is a great place for us to begin the school day. It's such a great tradition and we want our students to have and feel the support from their parents. As a school, we found it important to have a bigger place for parents to visit, view, and take pictures of students. When visiting GMPG we ask that all parents watch GMPG from the area identified on the diagram below.
