August 25th Update

Welcome K-12 Distance Learning Families and Students,

Thank you again for choosing NBAPS Distance Learning Academy this school year. Our staff are eagerly awaiting to partner with you to kick off the school year! This newsletter contains important information, events, and course registration deadlines. If at any point you have a question, please do not hesitate to give me a call.

Virtual Orientations

Please mark your calendars! During the day on September 8th and 9th, Distance Learning Academy staff will be hosting virtual student and family orientations. The virtual sessions will cover topics so that each student and family feel comfortable and confident to begin their first full day of learning starting on September 10th.


Specific information regarding the virtual orientations and how to R.S.V.P will be communicated the week of August 31st. Recordings will also be available for families.

Elementary Class Registration Information

All elementary students will receive Math, Reading/English Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. Kindergarten and First Grade students will also receive Health and Physical Education. All Second through Fifth Grade students will receive Art and Physical Education. Students and families will receive login information before the virtual orientations so that they can practice logging in.

Secondary Class Registration

Core class registration is now open. Students and families in grades six through eight will be confirming their core classes. Students in grades nine through twelve will also be confirming core classes while also providing additional information in cases an enriched or college-level course replaces a general education core class. Important: All secondary students will be able to select their electives during the week of August 31st. We apologize for the inconvenience. Additional information was presented to our team which we want to explore so that we can offer the most comprehensive experience for all of our students. Sorry for the delay. Your patience is appreciated.

Student Chromebook Pick Up

Families of K-5 students have the option to receive a district-issued student Chromebook.


Families have the option to opt-out and use a home device. Please ensure your device meets the following system requirements.


  • Laptop, Desktop, or Chromebook
  • Mac OS, Windows OS, or Chrome OS
  • Most current Chrome web browser


All Elementary families must complete the student device Google Form. Click HERE and complete by August 27th by 5:00 PM.


Chromebook Pick Up: Designated Chromebook pick up times will occur throughout the week of August 31st at the District Education Center. Drive-through Chromebook pick up will be at Door #1 at the designated times below:


  • Tuesday, September 1, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
  • Tuesday, September 1, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
  • Wednesday, September 2, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
  • Thursday, September 3, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
  • Thursday, September 3, 6:00 - 7:00 PM



Reminder: NBAPS secondary students have a district-issued Chromebook. Now is the time to ensure the device is in working order.
