Factors, Challenges, and things to think about
Pre-arranging
Pre-arranging is the most thoughtful things that you could do for your family members. This will allow you to choose what you would like and be able to give your family a beautiful final goodbye.
Things to think about
There are several things that go into planning a funeral service. We would like to make it as easy for you as we can. Here is a list of questions you should consider when planning a funeral.
- How much do you want to spend?
- Would you like a traditional casket and burial or cremation?
- Where would you like to be buried, do you need to purchase a cemetery plot?
- What type of casket or urn are you interested in?
- What type of vault or grave liner would you like, if required and desired?
- What type of marker or monument would you like? (this could depend on the cemetery that you choose).
- Are there certain religious, fraternal, or military customs that you want followed?
- Is there a particular charity or beneficiary you want to receive memorial gifts?
- Have you decided who you would like your pallbearers to be?
- Do have specific clothes or jewelry that you would like to be buried in?
- How would you like your memorial services to be conduced regarding any special readings, ministers or other speakers, music, power points, etc.?
- What do you want to happen to your ashes if you are creamated?
- Do you want your body donated to medical science?
- Do you want to donate any organs or body tissues at your death?
(Schinzel, n.d.)
