When you're expecting
First Trimester (Months 1-3)
In the first trimester, there are a lot of things that can happen to both the mother and the baby. At first, the mother is unaware that her body is changing to accompany a baby. The placenta formed, takes things the fetus needs from the blood stream. The mother needs to begin avoiding drugs and alcohol. The mother will also have cravings to show what the fetus needs more of. The baby is starting to turn into a baby from the egg it was created with. The emnryo begins to form a heart in this stage of growth and will grow 1/10 of a centimeter everyday. At six weeks, the baby should be an inch in length. At eight weeks, the embryo will be known as the fetus.
Second Trimester (Months 4-6)
In the second trimester, the mother can welcome relif from pesky early pregnancy symptoms. There could also be differnet syptoms that come up during this time. The mother will also be showing in the abdominal area more. The baby's movement will be more noticable with this change. The risk of a miscarriage is less likely to happen in the second trimester. The baby is growing more and more during the second trimester and becomes more of a human as well. The baby becomes more mobile and the organs develop. The bones also harden. The baby's growth increases and the baby has grown to 7 inches long.
Third Trimester (Months 7-9)
In the third trimester, the mother may feel that her abdominal area can't get any larger but it can. This is the time your baby grows most of all. The baby can grow between six and nine pounds and 19 to 22 inches long. The mother may feel the most stress she has felt during her entire pregnancy, but she has to try and avoid this. The stress can affect the baby greatly during the last stages of the baby's growth. The baby's organs and senses become more mature. The baby is able to open and close their eyes and the eyelashes grow. The baby reacts to different sounds differently now. The baby's also moves downward in the bottom-up position preparing to for the birth.

There are many things that you can do for a woman during a prenancy, but the most important one is help the pregnancy go by smooth. Help a woman get through all the stages of being pregnant that may hit her. You have to be able to handle mood swings, being a good companion, respect her privacy, satisfy her carvings, and relieve physical stress. A woman cannot do everything so you have to be able to do the things she cant. She needs to know that she has someone there to help her through this journey. So, be there for her, help her , and take care of her while she is carrying your child.
