NPA families - we need your assistance. The NJUHSD local control and accountability plan committee will be meeting in mid-March. We are asking that you PLEASE complete this short survey reflecting on your experience while at NPA. This anonymous data will be reviewed by the LCAP committee school by school. This week your student is closing out Assignment Sheet #7 and starting #8. Did your student meet the "ADA goal" for #7?

We have 15 days of ADA in this new assignment sheet. This was originally 20 but we were able to adjust for the school closure days. This is fair for our students! Notice we are now into week 2. Week 1 was changed from 5 days to 0.


The sample assignment sheet below is for a Tuesday student.

SENIORS Finanical Aid DEADLINE March 2, 2023

March 2: Priority filing deadline for FAFSA and CADAA. For Sierra meeting, this deadline guarantees first priority for Two Years of Free funding for your students that take full-time classes next year. Sierra school code = 001290


  1. Complete the FAFSA (via Going Merry) or CADAA
  2. Link your FAFSA to the IRS (see below)
  3. Check your college portals for financial aid awards!

NPA's new school counselor

Please join us in welcoming NPA's new school counselor Kristi Creighton to our team. Kristi's public calendar is accepting appointments now. Kristi has been a part of the NJUSHD school counseling professional learning community and is committed to a comprehensive school counseling program focused on the three domains of academics, college and career, and social-emotional support. Class of '23 SIERRA COLLEGE - It's TIME!

Sierra College Application workshops and Next Steps workshops have been scheduled!

Sierra College application registration for Fall classes begins in April. We're encouraging our seniors to apply no later than April 1st.

Grades 9-11 - Sierra Academic Enrichment

Juniors - Class of 2024 CAASPP/CAST

NPA's "ALL EYES ON CAASPP" will be the week of March 20-24, 2023. Juniors will be given options for testing dates and times within this week. General time allotments are 2.5 hrs math, 3 hrs English, and 2 hrs of science. NPA educators will be accounting for this time on the assignment sheet 8 expectations and will adjust coursework to match.

Sign-ups will occur the first week of assignment sheet #8 in the teacher/student weekly meeting. Assignment sheet #8 will also include test prep and familiarization with the CAASPP testing format.


Participation in state testing is not optional in an independent study school. More information regarding testing can be found on NPA's homepage here.
