Elementary Intra-District Transfer Information
The window for Elementary Intra-District Transfer Requests opens at 8:00 on April 6th, and remains open through 4:00 on April 19th. A link to the request form will be posted on district.d303.org by 8:00 on April 6th. Be please the detailed information below from D303 Board Policy regarding Intra-District Transfers:
Transfers Within the District
A student's parent(s)/guardian(s) may request a transfer for their child to a District school other than the one assigned. Requests should be directed to the Superintendent or designee who will make the final decision. The provisions in this section have no applicability to transfers pursuant to the Unsafe School Choice Option covered in Board policy 4:170, Safety.
To be considered for a transfer, student(s) must first be registered in the District.
Elementary Schools:
All approvals for elementary school transfers approved under this policy for school years prior to the 2018-2019 school year are effective only through the end of the 2017-2018 school year and will be terminated upon the end of the 2017-2018 school year. Starting with the 2018-2019 school year, all elementary school students are to attend school in the attendance area to which they are assigned by the Superintendent or designee unless the student's parent/guardian applies for and is granted an intra-district transfer for the 2018-2019 school year consistent with this policy.
- Individual requests must be submitted for each student. Siblings are not guaranteed placement.
- The Administration may identify specific criteria for prioritizing student transfer requests.
- Administrative placement because of overcrowding in the best interest of the School District may also be directed by the Superintendent.
The Superintendent or designee will make the decision on any request and all decisions are final. Elementary class size will be the factor for consideration of approval. Approvals for elementary transfers will remain in effect for one school year. Elementary school intra-district transfer requests must be submitted annually. Students who are granted permission to attend a school outside of their assigned attendance area shall be responsible for their own transportation.
The above does not apply to Middle or High School attendance -- students will return to their assigned attendance area middle and high schools regardless of the elementary or middle school attended.
Illinois Assessment of Readiness
All in-person 3rd-5th graders will be participating in the Illinois Assessment of Readiness upon their return from Spring Break. Classroom teachers will be sharing their schedules directly with parents. The IAR assesses students on grade level standards in Math and English/Language Arts. The assessment breakdown is as follows:
3rd Grade:
· Three sixty-minute math assessments, two seventy-five minute ELA assessments, and one 20-minute ELA assessment
4th and 5th Grade:
· Three sixty-minute math assessments, two 90-minute ELA assessments, and one 20-minute ELA assessment
Our remote students have the option of going to the Haines Center to participate in IAR testing. Denise Liechty sent information, including a survey, a few weeks ago for parents to indicate they’d like their child to participate in testing.
Have a wonderful Spring Break
