Monthly newsletter for our employees - December 20, 2019
Message from Dave Reinhart, Asst. Superintendent/HR Director
Friends,
Please enjoy a much needed break. The work you do each day has made student growth and achievement possible for several months and now it is time for you to rejuvenate.
However you celebrate the coming holidays, may they be filled with cheer, love and smiles. Thank you for all you do for students.
Our Human Resources and Payroll team are also going to take some days. We will return to our offices on Friday, January 3, 2020.
Have a great Holiday break!
David Reinhart
Swan Falls HS Update
For those new to KSD, Swan Falls High School was designed to open in phases. The first phase is essentially a satellite campus allowing expansion of our career technical education programs and adding classroom space. It is on schedule to open next fall.
During this time, Brian Graves will serve as principal of both schools and a lead building administrator will be assigned to each site.
Brian and his team discussed supervision needs as well as the opportunities that aligned with staff professional and personal goals. The following administrative shifts are effective this month:
SFHS Lead Building Administrator Robbie Reno. Robbie will continue as KHS dean.
KHS Lead Building Administrator Dave Beymer. By request, Anna Lovelady shifts to building administrator at KHS.
District Activities Director Tracy Donaldson. His dean position will not be filled.
Opening a new school is a lot of work, and we are confident the new structure will maximize our team’s talent and strengths while also keeping within the budget. We currently have a task force working on all of the upcoming changes associated with this new high school. Those members are:
- Wendy Johnson
- Kim Bekkedahl
- Dave Reinhart
- Adam Bell
- Ali Schauer
- Allison Westfall
- Brian Graves
- Robbie Reno
- Jason Reddy
- Jim Obert
- Mike Wiedenfeld
We will continue to update you each month on the progress.
Payroll NEWS
Happy Holidays from the Payroll department. We wish you and yours a safe and relaxing holiday season. In payroll, the New Year brings federal reporting season. This is a good time to make certain your address is current in our system, to ensure prompt delivery of 1095's and W2's.
The law requires W2's to be to employees by January 31st, we strive to get them in your hands much earlier than that. Current employees of the district will be able to pick their W2's up in the office their home school. The employee must sign for the W2, so plan to pick it up yourself. Any W2's not picked up will be mailed to the employee.
The Affordable Care Act also requires employers to send 1095 forms to all employees eligible for full time benefits. You do not have to have this form to file your taxes, but you will need to have it on file in case of audit. Those forms are prepared outside of our office, but should be received by employees by January 31, 2020.
