Big picture

Dear ROYALS Families,

As shared last week, Spring conferences will look a little different than what we have done in previous years. Teachers will be available on Monday, March 14th from 12:30p - 6:30p, with limited additional appointments times throughout the week.

  • From 12:30p - 3:30p we will have a scheduled conference in person or virtual option. To schedule your appointments, please click HERE. Please note you must indicate in the comments section if you are wanting a virtual or in-person appointment. Virtual conference links will be posted using the same format.

  • Then from 3:30p - 6:30p we will have 3-5 minute arena-style conferences (Conferences take place first come, first served). Please be prepared to wait.

    • 6th/7th Grade will meet at their Pathways classroom for core subjects, Explore classrooms for Explore Learning

    • 8th Grade will have individual rooms/meetings for all subjects

If March 14th doesn’t work for you, please email your child’s Pathways teacher, they will assist you with finding another way to meet. This also applies to those that are needing additional time. Out of respect for everyone's time, our teachers will be keeping conferences to 3-5 minutes. This means you should expect to meet for a total of 15-25 minutes combined for all subjects.

In closing, a wonderful way to show appreciation for our teachers is by providing dinner/snacks during conferences. Our PAC voted to continue with our tradition of conference dinner donation envelopes. This year, each envelope returned qualifies for an entry to our bring a friend Pizza Party drawing. We will draw 2 names from each grade and the winners will get a pizza party with two friends of their choice. Next week, ROYALS will come home with an envelope. Please consider donating by returning the envelope by March 14th.

Have a great weekend!

Classwork Assistance

We have a new student support opportunity coming for any ROYAL who would like assistance with their studies and classwork. We are partnering with student tutors from RRHS for two sessions a week after school from 4:40pm - 5:15pm on Wednesdays and Fridays. These sessions will be in a Quist classroom under a Quist staff member’s supervision. Students who want to attend will need to sign up ahead of time to reserve a spot. The signup and start date is now on our Virtual announcements and is also linked above.

Open Enrollment

We are in the midst of the open enrollment period for our district. If you have an 8th grader and your student doesn’t automatically roll up to Riverdale Ridge High School, you should have already received a communication from us on December 3rd, 2021. If RRHS is your boundary school and you don’t want to attend, then you will need to enroll in your school of choice by completing the open enrollment process.

Parent Book Club Interest Survey

Some members of our community have expressed interest in parent enrichment opportunities. Collaboration between us all is a key to continuing to build our community and supporting our ROYAL learners. We are in the beginning stages of setting up a parent book club/discussion group. At this stage, we want to gather insight into the interest. If interested, please click HERE to complete our interest survey. The first title selected is The Grown-Up's Guide to Teenage Humans by Josh Shipp
