Perkiomen Valley Athletics
Week of May 24
Playoffs!
We have begun the most exciting time of the year for our spring coaches and athletes as we have started the District 1 playoff season. Our varsity softball team clinched their berth in the playoffs with a 4-0 win over Gwynned Mercy Academy when Josie Strechay pitched a no-hitter. We will travel to Garnet Valley today at 4pm to play them in the first round of the playoffs. Good luck to Coach Pascucci and the team today! Our varsity baseball team and Coach Hinkle also qualified for the District 1 playoffs and will have a home game today as we face Central Bucks South at 4pm. Good luck to Coach Hinkle and his team today! Both teams will advance in district play with victories today. If you would like to see more details about their brackets and information, please visit the district 1 website at https://www.piaad1.org/.
Our track and field team participated in the District 1 tournament Friday and Saturday and we did quite well. Our 4x800 team of Delaney O'Sullivan, Sienna Miller, Abrielle Schweitzer, and Summer Watts earned a bronze medal and a berth to the state championship meet at Shippensburg University Saturday, May 29. Good luck to our team and our coaches! Dominik Brzozowski also qualified for the state championship meet Saturday, May 29 at Shippensburg University with his third place finish in the 400 meters and fifth place finish in the 200 meters. Good luck to Dominik, Coach Petsko, Coach Hodgins, and Coach Smith and our athletes at the state championship meet.
Lastly, our boys' lacrosse team played two games in the District 1 tournament so far. We were victorious against Upper Dublin earlier in the week and fell victim to Springfield-Delco on Saturday. We will be playing Tuesday, May 25 at 7pm to advance to the state playoffs. A victory over Wissahickon would earn us a birth. If you get the chance, please come out to support our teams as they participate this week. Also know that all of these events take place with the help of others. I would like to thank Mrs. Nice for preparing our programs that are given out at the boys' lacrosse games. I would also like to thank Ava Difiore for singing the National Anthem at our last boys' lacrosse game. She sang earlier this year at a softball game and really does a great job.
Sincerely,
Robert L. Felty Jr.
Athletic Director
