Most Glorious cattle breed in existence.
The Hereford breed originates from the English town of Herefordshire. The breed was molded for a high yield of beef and efficiency of production. Herefords 250 years ago were much larger than they are today at around 3,000 pounds. But because of selective breeding, the modern Hereford today weighs significantly less for more smoothness, quality and efficiency .
The modern Hereford is coloured dark red to red-yellow, with a white face, crest, dewlap, and underline. Matured males height in around 1,800 pounds and matured females weight in around 1,200 pounds. The Hereford has been know to withstand that Arctic winters of Finland to the sweltering summers of Transvaal. And female Herefords are known to produce calves beyond the age of 15 years old.
