Don't forget to record the titles and page numbers of the books your child reads at home. GCISD Reads program ends May 1st, so start turning in those reading forms to your child's teacher. If you need more forms, they are available in the Learning Commons or at http://www.gcisd-k12.org/Page/41327.
Remember, everything your child reads counts: print books, ebooks, magazines, graphic novels, audio books, books they read by themselves, books they read with you....all reading counts!
April is National Poetry Month
To celebrate National Poetry Month, a student will read his/her original poetry on KHES every morning. Students can also create poetry in the Learning Commons at our "Poetry Block" Makerspace.
Battle of the Books
And the winner is The Princess and the Pony by Kate Beaton. Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students had fun reading new literature from the Texas 2X2 list and voting for their favorite books.
