Adult Development & Aging
Spring 2016 Online
Welcome to the most important class of your life...
That is what we professors always think about our classes! We are beginning a quick seven-week stroll into the realm of psychology. We will be just scratching the surface of the world of psychology in this class to expose you to some key points that regard the human and how we function.
When you are finished with this class you will begin to understand more about how you work and others around you. What this class does not due is allow you to claim that you can counsel individuals, or make you a psychological specialist or so on. It does not allow you to diagnose or analyze people. This is to help you understand how to work within your own limits, or push through those limits, better.
You will find the lessons valuable and I have never had a student say, “Gee, I really did not like learning about me.” It has always been the opposite. Students find it refreshing to learn about themselves.
I work through casual professionalism. I expect us to have fun but still perform and submit work on a professional academic level.
I will challenge you in this class. The first challenge is to relax and enjoy the ride. It won't be that bad. I promise. Oh, and pay close attention to your syllabus. Download it and make it work for you.
Please start by completing the Jessup Online Student Orientation. And don't forget to tell us something about yourself in the Introductions Forum!
Welcome aboard and you will see that this class will be over before you know it. I am here for you to support you and encourage you, even nudge you towards success. I know that all of you are up to the challenge, otherwise you would not be here,
I pray God’s blessings on you all.
