This Week's News
Next week is MAY! The last days will go by fast! As always, let us know anything we can do to help you make it a great one for our students. This time of year comes with so many strong emotions. Consistency, strong learning goal and compassion help students better cope with the emotions of saying goodbye and the uncertainty of what their days will look like over the summer and next school year. Thank you for all you do to support them!
Class Placements for 15-16: Placements will be made during our grade level collabs on May 13th. Please plan to have your pink and blue sheets finished before this meeting. Remember, you have the pink and blue forms from last year and these will follow your students year to year. If you need additional sheets for students who are new to RV, see the office.
End of Year Calendar: I'll be adding the rest of the May dates over the weekend. The calendar is complete up to May 8th. If you don't see an event on the Rundown, email Laura and Kathy to get it on the master calendar.
Field Trips: Remember to let the cafeteria, nurse and specials know when you are gone on a field trip. Advanced notice helps us ensure we have food for lunches and meds ready to go.
MAP: Congrats to 3rd grade for leading the way in our on-line MAP testing. Things have gone very smoothly and our students are giving it their best. Good luck next week to 4th and 5th graders!
Reminder Testing FOR ALL STAFF: This year Missouri will be doing online state testing for elementary and middle level students. Since this is the first year we are concerned with the bandwidth that will be needed. While we are being told that measures are in place to help cache content we will be taking some additional measures to help with the quality of the testing experience.
During the testing window students will not have access to YouTube or internet radio during the school day. Teacher access will not be affected during these time periods. We apologize for any inconvenience but feel this is a necessary measure for the first year of online testing state wide.
We still encourage you to utilize the student devices during this time with other online resources that you use. Should you come across a resource that is not accessible by students but you think it should be please contact the help desk.
Testing time periods where students will have limited access during the school day:
· April 20 –April 24
· April 27 – May 1
· May 4 – May 8
· May 11 – May 14
