K-12 Next Step Open House TOMORROW NIGHT!
Don't forget - TPCS invites all CURRENT AND PROSPECTIVE families to our fall K-12 NEXT STEP Open House information event tomorrow, Tuesday, October 25th at 6:30 pm. Why not invite everyone you know to come check out Traders Point for their family?
Why would a current family attend a TPCS Open House, you ask? Because you can talk with teachers for NEXT year and learn about what's ahead for your child(ren). Traders Point is always seeking to honor God through growth and improvement. Be sure you are "in the know" on all that is happening.
What do we have in store that evening?
- High School - families will be in the JK Stevens Commons for the evening; hear comments from principal Jason Klingerman and various faculty; talk with Mr Klingerman and HS faculty, parents and students. HS facility tours will be offered pre-event at 5:45 pm before sunset and again around 8:00 pm.
- K-8 - families will start in the TPCS gymnasium and hear from principals Erica Buchanan-Rivera and Shane Schaffer, and then move to classrooms to talk with teachers.
- Info and representatives will be available for parent involvement groups. Refreshments will be available free of charge.
REMEMBER: Families who want to tour the new Knights campus under construction can arrive early at the academy for guided tours at 5:45 pm. Contact admissions@tpcs.org for more information.
Upcoming Parent Survey
How are we doing in fulfilling our mission and vision? That is a question that we ask ourselves regularly at every level of Traders Point Christian Schools on a regular basis. On a regular cycle we also survey our parents to help us determine the answer to that question. In early November we are going to ask that you take a few moments to fill out an on-line survey. This survey is designed and implemented by DTW, a company that specializes in surveys for Christian schools. They will compile the results and share those results with the administration and board.
The purpose of the survey is threefold. First, we want to determine where we are doing well in carrying out our mission to challenge and educate students within the framework of a biblical worldview while leading them to a personal relationship and transformed life in Jesus Christ. Second, we want to learn where are the biggest areas that need improvement. Lastly, we will use the information as a key component in creating an updated strategic plan.
This more people who participate in the survey the better as it gives a more accurate picture that will be a key component in planning for the future. Please watch for the survey in November!
Scholastic Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the Media Center during the week of October 31 through November 4 from 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. daily. Students and families can preview the book fair on October 27 and 28 as well.
Purchases can be made online too! Go to http://www.scholastic.com/bf/traderspointchristianacad and shop before and during the Book Fair!
Book Fairs are the primary source of funds for the Media Center, and profits are used to purchase many supplies and equipment for our students. In the past year, book fair funds were used to purchase a new projector, two bookcases, a table and chairs, an electronic circuitry set, headphones, many supplies and hundreds of books! Please join us and support the school while also supporting literacy! See you there!

8th Grade Bump Days
What is Bump Day?
Bump Day is a highlight for our students every year! Bump Day is a time set aside for your student to experience first hand what high school will be like in just less than a year. Your 8th grade student will spend part of a day with a high school student so they can learn about our high school. Our current 8th grade will be the first freshman class in our new high school learning center opening next August. Facilities may be different for them in 9th grade, but Bump Day will give them a good overview of the Traders high school experience.
When is Bump Day?
On Friday October 28th and Friday November 11th, we have scheduled our 8th grade students to experience Bump Day - half of the students on each date. Your student will join their high school host for their assigned school day at 7:30 am for donuts and milk/juice. The Bump Day lasts until 2:45 pm when classes normally end on Friday. Parents received an email from our admissions department that includes Bump Day Match Lists to see their assigned date and high school host. We have a goodie bag for your student that will include updated high school information and a new Knights Class of 2021 shirt . We trust it is helpful and you enjoy learning the latest about TPCHS.
If for some reason your student is not at school for their assigned Bump Day, we are happy to arrange another chance for your child to shadow with our high school. Just contact Mrs. Morgan in admissions to make those arrangements. Please contact Mrs. Kanzler if you have any questions about Bump Day or the information provided.

Update from the School Nurse
A HUGE “thank you” to all of you who have responded to my immunization record request, we are getting closer and closer to 100% compliance every week. I appreciate the help in tracking down the records, it is so important to meeting our state requirements.
Are you a Registered Nurse, and are you interested in being added to our “nurse substitute list”? If so, please contact either myself or Lisa Carr (lcarr@tpcs.org) and let us know that you would like to be added to the list. We can set up minimal training time. It is a joy to work here and serve our students, staff and families daily, and any time served does count toward your family service agreement hours.
I hope when you enter our building that you feel surrounded by support and covered in God’s endless Grace. As a staff, we pray for our students and families daily. Please let us know if there is anything that we can partner in prayer with you about, and contact any of us for any questions.
In Christ,

Below is a SignUpGenius link that allows families interested in a carpool to add your name as well as identify other interested families. You contact each other from there. The more families that use this, the more effective it will be! So click the link below to join in to offer, or to find, a carpool. For more information contact Volunteer Coordinator, Lisa Carr.

SCRIP- Shop to Earn Cash Back for Tuition!
With scrip fundraising, families can easily earn cash for tuition for their own children (80%) and for the school (20%) while they shop.
Scrip is simple. Order gift cards, e-cards, reloadable or printable certificates for many places at which you shop, dine and play already and a percentage of what you spend comes right back to you as a credit on your student account. Simply use scrip gift cards for everyday purchases, and earn a rebate on each one at no additional cost.
Scrip is easy. Families purchase online – no checks, no submitting order forms to the school -- and your cards/certificates are available either instantly for print, redemption on your Smartphone, or as reloadable gift cards. For more information, visit the Scrip website at www.shopwithscrip.com.
To sign up you will need our Traders Point enrollment code. However, we are unable to publicly publish our enrollment code for security reasons. Please email tpcascrip@gmail.com for this code and further directions.
We pray this will be a blessing to all of our Traders Point families!
Witham Field at Knights Stadium
Witham’s commitment to the health and welfare of our community has led to the sponsorship of Traders Point Christian Schools. This is one of many initiatives being addressed to provide healthier lifestyle education for our children.
Witham will provide services such as Fitness Grams and athletic trainers, as well as, new AEDs for our field and gym. In addition, they have made a significant gift to our Foundations for the Future campaign. In recognition of their sponsorship contribution TPCS has granted exclusive naming rights. The field will be referred to as ‘Witham Field’ and will be visible on large signage at the entry into the stadium and on the press box.
The official announcement was made during an unveiling prior to the TPCS homecoming football game.
