Every Child Thrives, Every Day
August 9, 2023
Welcome Back
All staff members are officially back this week, and we are excited to begin planning for the new year. It's always so fun seeing each other after being away for the summer - plenty of smiles and giggles to go around. Summers sure are wonderful, but there is something special about being back together, preparing for our Bobcats' return.
Many thanks to all the moms who spent time transforming our hallways and helping us get back-to-school ready. We can't wait for you to see what they've done!
It's going to be a great year. We look forward to seeing you next week.
Have a great day,
Erika Oster
Principal
Class Assignments
Many of you are eagerly waiting to hear who your child's homeroom teacher will be - oh the anticipation! However, please keep in mind that we do not honor parent requests for specific teachers. Understandably, student placement can cause some concerns. I can assure you that careful consideration is given to each child as we place them in homerooms.
There are many factors considered as we create a dynamic learning environment for each classroom. We create a team of staff members consisting of homeroom teachers, specials & support teachers (Gifted & Talented, Special Education, Dyslexia, etc), counselor, and administrators. Collectively, we are very careful in placing all students in an environment in which we feel they will thrive. We truly want what is best for ALL of our students, and we thank you for trusting us with your child.
Who Is My Teacher?
We will use the emails we have on file so please make sure your information is updated in Home Access Center.

New Staff
School Year Begins
Are you ready for the new school year? Classes in Northwest ISD resume on Wednesday, August 16! To get the new school year started off right, make sure you get all the back-to-school supplies set for your campus. To see a list of required supplies by campus, view this webpage.
Free and reduced-cost meal application available
For families in need, a federally funded program exists to eliminate or offset the cost of school meals for their children. Families who meet income requirements should apply for the free and reduced-cost meal program if they believe their children qualify for these meals.
Students in this program receive one breakfast and one lunch combo meal daily for their free or reduced-cost price. Families can apply online or print out a paper copy of the form. Those who previously were accepted into the program will have a 30-day grace period to reapply.
School Hours: 7:40 am - 3:00 pm
In order to maximize student learning we kindly ask that students be in their seat by 7:40 am. When students arrive late, they miss the opportunity to start the day along with their peers, receive the initial instructions from teachers, and feel settled and prepared for a day filled with learning experiences. Announcements and Morning Meetings begin at 7:40 am.
Thank you so much for supporting us in making sure all students find success! (Disclaimer: The first week of school is the exception as we understand this is a the time to establish routines and procedures.)
Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
A few things that help move morning lines more swiftly is making sure students know how to unbuckle their own seat belts, put on their backpacks, and open their car door so they are ready to exit the car as soon as you pull up to the curb. Please do not exit your car at any time, our staff is happy to help support students as needed.
