Shout Outs
- PTO, front office staff, parent volunteers, custodial staff and cafeteria staff for their work in a successful Grandparents DAy on Friday.
- The cafeteria staff sends a shout out to Mr. Gantt and J. Reed for assisting in the serving line on Friday.
- N. Jefferson, K. Hill, G. Hardie, and F. Myers who are serving as mentors for members of their respective teams this school year. Serving as a mentor includes additional requirements and commitments in supporting our colleagues.
- C. Walker reached out to the author of Dear Mr. Rosenwald, Carol Weatherford, in light of our 100 year anniversary. Mrs. Weatherford will visit our school on December 7th (scheduled date for centennial celebration). Further details to come.

MAP Testing
Last week NWEA had system-wide issues with MAP testing, and as a result to a large number of our students being "kicked out" of the test, we decided to suspend testing for the week. Consequently, we will have to extend our testing window to the week of the 10th. Please find the updated MAP Schedule below.
With the computer lab being closed for testing this will be the last week where related arts schedules will be impacted. Those changes include the following:
Tuesday:
- First Grade: Mrs. Knowles' class will go to Music
- Kindergarten: Mrs. Poston's class will go to Art
- 5th Grade: Mrs. Jefferson & Strings 1 will go to PE
- 2nd Grade: Ms. Blackwell's class will split between Spanish (1-4 students), Art (5-8 students), PE (9-12 students), Music (13-16 students)
Wednesday:
- 4th Grade: Ms. Abu Abdo's class will go to Spanish
- 1st Grade: Mrs. Sparkman's class will go to PE
- 3rd Grade: Mrs. Goforth's class will go to Art
- Kindergarten: Mrs. McWhirter's class will go to Music
- 2nd Grade: Mrs. Gustafson's class will split between Spanish (1-4 students), Art (5-8 students), PE (9-13 students), Music (14-17 students)

District Magnet Meeting
DFES will host a magnet school meeting with reps from our respective district magnet schools. These meetings are lead by Sara Wheeler, Director of Magnet School Programs. There are no additional requirements for our staff.

Elementary Night at DFHS
Each year Dutch Fork High hosts an elementary night in which they invite all elementary schools in the Dutch Fork Cluster to attend a football game to help cheer on the Silver Foxes. This year DFHS is set to host Blythewood High School.
We will have several members of the varsity team (former Fox Cubs) that will join us Friday morning to greet students/families in our car rider lines.

SLO & Evaluations
SLO and GBE approval conferences should be completed no later than September 21st. Plan on completing your SLO or GBE by the end of the day on Friday, September 14th. This will allow one week of conferences before submission to the District Office.

- 6:15 - 7:15 Parents/families in classrooms/
- 7:15 - An announcement will be made thanking parents/families for joining us to conclude the evening.
Vision/Goals for that evening:
- connecting dots for families and further building relationships created during meet/greet
- provide families insight into how students are learning as readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, and social scientists and practical ways parents can support their children as learners
- encourage families to sign up for parent/teacher conferences
- K-3 teachers will share Read 2 Succeed Powerpoints; powerpoint links are included below
