This Friday, September 7th, we will have our 100 Mile Club Kick-Off Assemblies! We are very fortunate to have 100 Mile Club Founder, Kara Lubin, come out and get our students excited about the 100 Mile Club. The 100 Mile Club was founded more than 25 years ago, when Kara wanted to find another way the students in her class could have the opportunity to be successful. I am not sure whether Kara knew how the 100 Mile Club would take off, but we love it at Condit. The goal is for students to walk/run 100 miles in one school year. Credit for miles are earned every Friday afternoon out on our south field. Condit also holds Saturday events once a month. Miles earned at official events (Turkey Trot, 5k's, etc.) also count towards your miles. You just need to bring in evidence (bib, registration form/receipt) of it. When students reach 25 miles, they have an opportunity to purchase a shirt for $11. The shirt has boxes on the back that signify 25, 50, 75, and 100. Students who purchase a shirt can mark off the boxes on the back as they achieve each milestone. Milestones are tracked on colored cards for each mile they earn (White card-25, Green card-50, Orange card-75, Red-100). We have a lot of students who earn 100 miles before the year is over, and they keep on earning miles. All students are recognized for their miles at our medal ceremony in June. Our 100 milers receive their medals at this ceremony. We welcome our families to join as well, and there is more information below in the 100 Mile Club section about that, as well as an event at the L.A. County Fair this weekend.

We hope you have had a chance to stop by the newly renovated Condit Library. The Library Committee truly transformed the space into an inviting and serene place on campus for our students to engage in reading. If you haven't checked it out, please stop by.

☀️ Gates open at 8:30AM, run begins at 9 a.m.
Participants will have one hour to complete as many loops as
they want between 9-10 AM.
The Fair opens at 10AM, at which time participants can enjoy
the Fair the rest of the day.
Parking and entry at Gate 9 on White Ave. (Parking not included.)
The 100 Mile Club® Fun Run course will be exactly one mile and traverse the Fair's Farm, Big Red Barn, Carnival, and other areas.

The Condit Caller Student Directory
The Condit PFA will publish its annual school directory, The Condit Caller, again this fall. Condit families are encouraged to advertise your businesses to our school community. Advertising in the Condit Caller is a great way to let other Condit families know about your local business or professional service you provide. All families who join PFA receive a copy of the Condit Caller. Ad revenues support our PFA which funds critical educational and enrichment programs, playground equipment, our school library, technology upgrades and more. Ads start at $50, are available in black/white or color, and enjoy long “shelf life” because parents refer to the invaluable Caller throughout the school year and beyond. The deadline to submit payment, ad copy (jpg preferred), and sign up form is Friday, September 21st. The 100 Mile Club in 2018-2019
We LOVE to have our family members join the 100 Mile Club, and want to include your miles in our school-wide goals. For any person that is not an enrolled student at Condit, we will continue to pass out "Guest" sticks. Students will continue to collect our usual sticks stamped with Condit on them, but the "Guest" sticks will be blue. If you are a family member that plans on joining the 100 Mile Club, please make sure that you are collecting the blue sticks for each lap that you do. Outside events will be credited based on the registration forms that indicate participants name.
