This storm is large-scaled, fast-moving, long-lived, and devastating. A popular nickname for this sort of storm is a "Land Hurricane" because some of the winds can be as strong as a Category 1 Hurricane. (74 mph) Derecho storms normally occur in summer months and when there are high temperatures.

Who, What, When, and Where.
This storm was founded by Gustavus Detlef Hinrichs, he reported this storm to be a so called "Super-Storm". He reported this storm in his Meteorological Journal in 1888, over a storm that swept over Iowa on July 31st, 1877.
