CVE MTSS Process - From CVE Para-Educators
EXCITING NEWS!
This week at Clinton Valley, we will start our online support for MTSS. What is MTSS? MTSS is a Multi-Tiered System of Support framework that helps educators provide academic support.
Students in all grades will have on-line support on the days students are at home during hybrid learning.
Each grade level will have a designated time for ELA and Math. Students are to use Schoology accounts that each teacher provides for their classroom. Students will be grouped by Para-educators and by grade level time slots.
Mrs. Wright and the Para-educators have worked hard to ensure that learning with support can continue at home.
** This is essential to help support your child’s education.
Each student will be given material to support them with their MTSS group. Students will take home their materials and join the para-educators on their designated home school group day and time. Students are to not work on the packet independently. They are to join their MTSS Group on-line for instruction and support learning.
We hope that you take advantage of this opportunity for your students. During this time in education, we want you to know that we care about your students, and we want to provide Best Practices to help them grow academically.
We will look forward to seeing your students in their MTSS group and time slots.
Thank you for your support in ensuring that your child will attend their MTSS learning group.
Your CVE team of Para-Educators,
Mrs. Walters( Webster)
Ms. Sugameli
Mrs. Cameron

What's Happening Down in Kindergarten with Mrs. Susalla & Mrs. Tech
Reading: I think determining the meaning of unknown words in text, sight word “we” and building fluency by pausing at punctuation marks.
Grammar: Verbs in the present tense (acting out)
Writing: informational sight word sentences (We see a ——.)
Math: Reading counting stories to add one more to determine what comes next. Students will act out what happens when we add one more.
Science: finishing our unit on force and motion and putting our forces into action during recess. Determining how we move throughout the playground and pushing or pulling to play on different structures.

What's Happening down in 1st Grade with Ms. Avila??
Today in first grade, we adopted reading puppy pals! Each child adopted a dog and took a pledge to read to their pal for 10 minutes a day! The dogs stay in little Ziploc “homes” when they are at school and go home on the weekends! Here are a few pictures to make you smile!
What's Happening Down in 2nd & 3rd Grade with Ms. Rees, Ms. Metcalfe, and Mrs. Kowalski
Third grade is continuing to work on text and graphic features during language arts. We will be starting a unit on forming our reasons for opinion writing. In math, we are working on building the foundational skills of multiplication using repeated addition and grouping. During social studies, we are starting to look at our great state of Michigan!
What's Happening Down in 4th Grade with Mrs. Phillips
In ELA we will be traveling to a different country that we learned about (in our minds of course!) and create a writing piece about this country and describe how books are delivered there since they do not have access to libraries.
In Math, we will be taking our first quiz on Schoology.
In Science, we will use what we learned during our sandpaper experiment this week to learn more about weathering and erosion. (Pictures from the experiment posted below)
What's Happening Down in 4th & 5th Grade with Mrs. Stark, Mrs. Roddy and Mrs. Laichalk

SACC - Information
Hello SACC parents!
Please note that registration for the CVE SACC program is now available online. The registration fee is $20 per child and the hourly rate is now $5 per hour. Please be as specific as possible with your students SACC schedule as we will be closely monitoring ratios at this time.
There may be need for a waitlist if a section is full. Parents will be entering the building only to sign in their students at the SACC doors and student temperatures will be taken at that time. MASKS ARE REQUIRED for entry.
As always, if you have an outstanding balance from last school year, that must be paid in full in order to gain access to the program.
The SACC program will begin at CVE Monday 10/26/20. Please contact Becky Koch at rkoch@cvs.k12.mi.us with any questions or concerns.
