Weekly Update 05/10/19

Big picture

Greetings Eastridge Families,

Thank you for showing our teachers how much you appreciate them! Educating our students truly is a combined effort between parents, teachers, students, and the community. We appreciate your continued support!

As students start counting down the remaining 15 days of school, please encourage them to finish strong! Teachers and staff took a pledge at the beginning of the school year to make sure all students learn at high levels. We are still moving full speed ahead at the "Ridge"!

Several students are dressing out of uniform. Please see our dress code policy below and make sure your child is adhering to the rules. If a student reports to school out of dress code they will be sent to the nurse's office to change. You may be contacted personally if we need additional support from you.

Teachers are administering end of the year assessments to track student growth. Please make sure your child is present everyday on time. The last week of school is filled with exciting activities (Field Day, Awards Day, CORE Carnival, CORE Cookout, Team Huddle, and classroom celebrations) which leaves very little time for makeup assignments and assessments.

Have a great week and as always, I thank you for your continued support of Eastridge Elementary!

Attendance

We love celebrating our students so please make sure they come to school each day. Students who attend school regularly have been shown to achieve at higher levels than students who do not have regular attendance. Every school day counts in a child's academic life... a missed school day is a lost opportunity for students to learn. The effects of lost school days build up one absence at a time. Leaving early or coming in late, is a loss of instructional time that cannot be made up.
