LYNX Advocates: A New Team
Who are the LYNX Advocates for the 2018-19 school year?

What do LYNX Advocates do?
* LYNX Advocates are FHS teachers who work directly with 9th grade students. They provide meaningful learning experiences for students in and beyond the classroom.
*LYNX Advocates also work with 8th grade students at our feeder middle schools to prepare for a positive transition to high school.
Where do LYNX Advocates work with students?
* In classrooms (co-teaching)
* During Advocacy (block 2.5)
* In the Learning Lab during our extended day (media center after 2:20 p.m.)
* During guest presentations and off-campus learning experiences
LYNX Grade 10: New Opportunities
All 10th graders meet in LYNX Advocacy groups daily (block 2.5) with a teacher who guides their Student Success Plan. Using Schoology, 10th grade students can access LYNX resources as well as upcoming service and internship opportunities from Ms. Jamey Melcher, FHS Work-based Learning Coordinator.
We are excited to launch our LYNX Partner Speaker Series for 10th graders this fall! Each Advocacy group is paired with a business or community partner who will visit with students once a month.

Frederick High School is supported by more than 80 LYNX partners in business, the community, and higher education. LYNX partners design meaningful learning experiences for students on and off campus.

Frederick High School operates on an extended daily schedule.
LYNX students in grades 9 and 10 can choose a traditional, staggered, or extended schedule.

LYNX Learning Lab: Did you know?
All FHS students (grades 9-12) can come to the LYNX Learning Lab (media center) for tutoring, independent study, collaborative work, and guest presentations with LYNX partners.
LYNX LEARNING LAB
Session I: 2:20 - 3:40 pm (daily)
FREE Dinner: 3:45-4:15 pm (daily) *bus at 4:20 pm
Session 2: 4:20 - 5:40 pm (T/W/R) *bus at 5:45 pm
