Veterans Day - 11/11 - (School is in session.)
Veterans Day is an official United States federal holiday that is observed annually on November 11, honoring people who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, also known as veterans. It coincides with other holidays including Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which are celebrated in other parts of the world and also mark the anniversary of the end of World War I (major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice with Germany went into effect). The United States also originally observed Armistice Day; it then evolved into the current Veterans Day holiday in 1954.
On Veterans Day school is in session where we will celebrate the service of all U.S. military veterans.
(Veterans Day is not to be confused with Memorial Day - Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who gave their lives and those who perished while in service.)

3rd Grade
Third graders plotted ordered pairs on graph paper and then connected the dots to make a jack-o-lantern. They really enjoyed this project.
Understanding Usernames, Passwords & Navigating the Internet
- 3rd graders have learned how to login to several apps using the CLC Chromebooks. They understand usernames and passwords and why they are necessary for privacy and security. Each student knows how to open and work on their MobyMax, FrontRow & FastMath apps. These apps help the students practice skills as well as learn new skills each day.
- Third graders spent time in the CLC researching Kentucky landforms and attractions. They will share what they learned about our state with other students from around the United States in our postcard exchange.
- This class now knows how to navigate the internet to the St. Paul School website, find Mrs. Bragg's class link, and on her page find the research links for their Kentucky Studies!

Each family is receiving $100 worth of chances (20 chances at $5 each). Your help is needed for success! St. Paul School needs 100% participation from every school family to help bring money back into our school and to keep our tuition rates from rising. Please help us support this great school!

Here are some ideas on where you might be able to sell chances: friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers, at mass, at bingo and to family/friends you see over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Ask family and close friends to take to work with them to sell for you. Take to children’s nonschool related activities and share with parents from other schools that might be interested in winning cash for Christmas and please remember, we are not just asking people to purchase a raffle ticket. We are asking them to help support the school we love with a $5 donation.
To help with ticket sales, the following opportunities are available for families.
- Two (2) family limit for each mass, a Three (3) family limit at the Knights of Columbus Chicken Dinner at St. Paul and a One (1) family limit per bingo night. These opportunities are provided first come, first serve. If you wish to sign up for one of these events, please email Stephanie Gayheart at dawsonsmommy@twc.com or call (502)379-0323 with your event choice.
Please return sold (and unsold) chances by Wednesday, December 10, 2015. The drawing will be held December 11, 2015.
