Summative Conferences
All teaching staff will receive a summative conference (regardless of T-TESS or ATR). For this conference, you and your evaluator will review everything from this school year that pertains to your growth as an educator.
We will discuss:
- your original goal set at the beginning of this year and set a new goal for next year,
- observation notes (walkthroughs or formal evaluations),
- SLOs (student learning objective)-student growth measure (CAST Cycle: Commentary),
- and Domain 4 of the T-TESS rubric (Professional Practices & Responsibilities).
Seeing the holistic view of April, I suggest starting now to begin preparing for your summative conference since there are so many moving parts. If you need help organizing your student growth information, please see Joey or Kim. If you need help with evidence for your goal or Domain 4 of T-TESS, see your administrator.
We are here to help and want everyone to feel confident going into these conferences!
Go Warhawks! And, remember, you belong here.

Week in Review
Mishler's Philosophy/Expectations for Grades
Grades should be updated on a consistent basis so that scholars and their families have an ongoing idea of their mastery of the concepts/skills being taught in class. A grade dump right before progress reports or right before report cards is not acceptable at WMS.
Also, parent contact is required (early this week) if you think a scholar may fail for the six weeks. The call/email needs to occur with enough time in the week for the scholar to come to tutorials. Think about any grades you may be recording this week and then decide if the scholar's current grade (before new grades may be entered) would put them below a 70 or not. If you would like help scripting a phone call home, please see Stewart or Hackethorn.
Field Trips
This form needs to be submitted at least three (3) weeks prior to the date of the event so we can complete the bus request and make arrangements if there will be implications for lunches (more/less/different food) or safety (medications/allergies/etc.).
Questions about a field trip? See Mishler.
Picture Day is Wednesday
Scholars will be escorted down by their Science teacher.
Turning in Receipts
Keep in mind that if you purchase items with your own funds, you may not get reimbursed (district policy) and sales tax will not be reimbursed (you can request a tax exempt form from Ms. Peterson).
Tech Tip: Control + Shift + T
Have you ever closed a web page accidently, and then could not find it again? Here is a quick tip. If you press Control, Shift T all at the same time it will reopen the last webpage closed. Even better if you have those students that quickly close tabs when you walk up behind them, just press Control, Shift T and the pages will reopen. This will open several tabs closed, in the order they were closed (with a Mac: Command + Shift + T).
