Learning Log Week
It's a Learning Log Week EXCEPT...one small change.
Tuesday morning at 8:15 in the Media Center, Mr. Thompson has asked for a voluntary staff meeting. He states that it will be brief.
Because of this change, Tuesday, December 10th, 4th grade will meet after school. NO SPED meeting this week.
Wednesday, January 11th...Meeting with Mr. Thompson at AHS @4:30 (All District)
The power of a planted seed.
Recently, I read this quote and was immediately drawn to it.
" You can have a million seeds in your pocket, but they won't ever
grow if that's where you keep them."
Of course, you all realize that the only way for fruit to grow, is to start by planting seeds. The power of a planted seed is endless. As we begin a new year, I want to remind you that every child in your classroom is fertile ground for growth. Although you might not get to see the fruit of your labors, isn't it inspiring to know you get to plant the seed? Sometimes I know that it feels like those seeds have fallen on shallow ground, but don't lose heart! Try not to focus on the harvest, just focus on the planting.
Daily, I have watched each of you "sow some seeds" by your simple acts of pure kindness. You generously offer student's everything they need and more. For many, our students become family. I have also witnessed you doing this with your colleagues. Baby showers, book drives, grieving over losses, Christmas parties, food drives, the list is endless. Over and over again, you all offer pieces of yourselves to others. It doesn't go unnoticed even though there are days that it sure feels like it.
I want to encourage you to not leave a single seed in your pocket as we start a new year. As a colleague and friend, I'm encouraging you to continue to plant gardens that will never die.
