Tech Today: Math Grades 3-12
Reminder: KSDE Math Website has changed!
Please change your bookmark to reflect this.
The Elementary school appears to be showing correctly with many glitches. I will warn you that the KITE teacher portal is not as user friendly as we had hoped. There needs to be many improvements made. Here is a link to a form that you can bookmark and fill out to offer feedback as you experience issues. I think it will be an effective way for us to keep track of issues the state needs to know about:
Formative Feedback Form:
We will notify MS and HS teachers as soon as everything is in place for you to start assigning formatives. I am sure many of you are anxious to get started! We will probably need to organize a time to meet so that I can walk you through and demonstrate how to use the new site.
The links to KITE teacher portal and student portal are at the bottom of this page. You will want to bookmark these.
If you have any questions, please contact me or Crystal.

Oh NO Fractions!
The original Oh No Fractions LAB! app is free and has won numerous awards. Allows students to compare fractions and reduce fractions and includes a prove it section. It also has 10 free operations available to add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions.
The new Oh No Fractions app is .99 cents and has added more operations.
Capitol Federal Savings and the Kansas Association of Teachers of Mathematics (KATM) have established a scholarship to be awarded to a practicing Kansas (K-12) teacher for the best mathematics teaching enhancement proposal. The scholarship is $1000 to be awarded at the annual KATM conference. The scholarship is competitive with the winning proposal determined by the Executive Council of KATM.
The winning proposal will be the best plan submitted involving the enhancement of mathematics teaching. Proposals may include, but are not limited to, continuing mathematics education, conference or workshop attendance, or any other improvement of mathematics teaching opportunity. The 1-2 page typed proposal should include a complete description of the mathematics teaching opportunity you plan to embark upon.
ü An outline of how the funds will be used.
ü An explanation of how this opportunity will enhance your teaching of mathematics.
The successful applicant will meet the following criteria:
Have a continuing contract for the next school year in a Ks. school.
ü Teach mathematics during the current year.
ü Be present to accept the award at the annual KATM Conference.
To be considered for this scholarship, the applicant needs to submit the following no later than June 1 of the current year.
