Principal's Message

Dear North Gresham Community

Welcome back to the 2021-2022 school year!

My hope is that you were able to take part in some summer fun even when anxiety is running high on how school will look during this academic year. Spending time with family, creating long-lasting memories, and unwinding are elements of the summer that I hope you were able to enjoy. I know that this global pandemic has affected our lives in many ways. Hardships and loss have swept our world and the North Gresham community is no exception. As we return to school, please know that the health and wellbeing of all is our top priority. In order to achieve this, I am asking in advance for your flexibility as we adhere to changes that are required by mandates.

So many changes have happened during the spring and they continue to change throughout the summer and as we head into fall. The flexibility and understanding that has been demonstrated by the North Community is unwavering and appreciated.

Here are a few things we would like to share with you:

Transportation- North Gresham Elementary has a large number of families who pick their children up instead of using our buses. Please consider allowing your child to ride the bus. First Student is requiring all students to wear their masks on the bus. If you choose to pick your child up from school, please be patient. It usually takes us about two weeks to get to know cars, numbers and match students with parents for pick up.

Should you choose to pick your child up from school, it is required that you have a number assigned to you PRIOR to the first day of school. These numbers will be handed out and explained at our Back to School Night. Please hold the date and time of September 1st from 5-7 p.m.

It is also important to note that cars will only be able to pull in our driveway from the South (please do not come up 217th from Stark). This blocks our buses and creates a bigger traffic jam.

All students and staff in the building will be required to wear masks at all times unless actively eating or drinking. Students will be seated at the required distance during lunchtime.

Parents and volunteers will not be permitted in the building at this time.

Again, thank you all for your continued support and partnership in your child's education.

School Supply Fee

As the beginning of the school year approaches, many of you are wondering about supply lists and supply fees. Please be aware that North Gresham will not be collecting a school supply fee this year. Parents will not need to purchase school supplies. All supplies needed for your child will be provided for the 2021-22 school year.

Parents will still need to supply a backpack for their child and a lunch box (if you choose to send lunch).

Free Breakfast & Lunch for the 21/22 School Year

North will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students during the 21/22 school year.
