Auburn School Remembers: 100 Years of Veterans Day

We at Auburn Elementary School are honored to be able to recognize the veterans in our community and our students’ families. While Memorial Day is to honor all those who died in service to their country, Veterans Day is a special day to honor and thank LIVING veterans of honorable military service, during both war and peace time. We will be celebrating Veterans Day with a school-wide program on Friday, November 9.

Prior to our ceremony, we would like to publicly recognize living veterans in your child’s family on our Stars for Veterans banner, which will hang in our front lobby for the month of November. If you have (a) veteran(s) in your family that you would like to recognize, please fill out the Veterans form at the link below by November 6.

If your student has a veteran they would like to invite to our program, we would love to recognize them in person on November 9. Our program will start at 8:30 AM. Seating for veterans and their student family member will be on the gym floor. While we would love to be able to invite the entire community, space limitations make that impossible. Therefore, we ask that only the veteran and his/her spouse (if desired) attend the program in person. We will have a Veterans Social with refreshments immediately after the program for veterans and their student to attend together

However, we will be recording the program on Facebook Live on our Auburn School Facebook page, starting at 8:30 AM, if you would like to watch in real time or at your own convenience.

Thank you for your assistance in recognizing the important veterans in the lives of our students and community!

Veterans Day Recognition Form

Please complete if your student has a LIVING veteran they would like to recognize on our Stars for Veterans banner. (Memorial Day is to recognize DECEASED veterans.)
