Mrs. Branton November 2015 GE News
Gifted Education News for Woodland and Edinbrook
Thank you to those of you who were able to make Gifted Education part of your fall conference schedule. If you have questions, concerns, and/or a need for clarification regarding GE programs, please contact the GE teacher.
Information for second grade parents
All second graders will participate in taking the Cognitive Abilities test (CogAT) in January. Data gathered from this process and the upcoming NWEA assessments, will be used for decisions about GE services for 2016-17. Watch the Wednesday envelope for additional information.
Information for third and fourth grade parents
January and early February is the time when testing for Gifted Education pull-out service takes place. Teachers in grades three and four will soon begin the data-collection process in preparation for identifying those students with the greatest need for pull-out enrichment in the 2016-2017 school year. Teachers and parents may nominate students for this testing; students may self-nominate. Students may re-test for areas in which they do not currently qualify for GE service. Contact your GE teacher for additional information.
