School Board Report for OTES
November 2018
Respect at OTES
Respect for Self: Believe in yourself, have a growth mindset, positive self talk, self care
Respect for Others: Being on time, having materials ready, listen, be open minded, use respectful language
Respect for Property: Clean up after yourself, take care of your classroom, take care of the gardens, care for and return library books.
We are really trying to support this theme throughout the school year with activities, videos, and awards centered on the work above
PTC Meetings and Parent Involvement
We also set a goal for our school and parents to contribute at least 10 hours of volunteer hours at OTES. These hours can take many shapes and forms, but already, we are seeing an increase in parent participation and support for many events at OTES.
Finally, the PTC is trying to focus on expanding the enrollment to their monthly meetings with more discussion centered on student needs, activities, and curricular experiences. We have seen those monthly meetings increase in participation as well. We look forward to a strong school year with parents at our side supporting what we do each day.
