Advice for Teachers Trying This
Include parameters like time limits and limited choices to ensure the project is focused on the standards. Also, don't feel like you have to change everything at once.
Parameters:
Time: Students had a limited amount of time (one class period) to brainstorm their business idea and plan their pitches. This forced them to go with their gut.
Presentation Tool: Students used Jamboard to show their thinking. This tool worked better than slides because it was quick and easy for students to organize their ideas with Jamboard. When creating a slide deck students tend to get bogged down by the design and details which takes a lot of class time and focus away from the standards.
Business Service Categories: Students used a spin wheel and had to combine the two categories into one business. This provided some structure and guided students to a business idea.

π Dr. Pete Faziani Presenting at MSU Conference on Teaching and Learning
Exciting news! Let's give a round of applause to Dr. Pete Faziani for his amazing achievements! In March, he led a dynamic discussion session on "Post-Post Pandemic Learning" during our OE Mini-Conference. The session inspired him to submit a paper proposal for MSU's Spring Conference on Teaching and Learning: Community, Conversation, and Classroom Experience. I'm pleased to announce that it was accepted! Congratulations
