What's the scoop at the Luce?
Hello Luce Families,
I hope this email finds you well. This week starts the month of November. November is an action-packed month with many amazing things happening. Please read the newly published November calendar (attached below) to be up-to-date with upcoming programming and events. Please note that November 1 is a day of school.
Luce DEI
The Luce DEI will launch in November on the last Tuesday of the month on November 29. We are looking for members who are interested in joining the team. Our goal this year is to create a sense of belonging at the Luce for all community members. If you are interested in joining our DEI team, please email me directly at: lamoury@cantonma.org.
Parent/Guardian Conferences
Parent/Guardian conferences are coming up. Your child's teacher will reach out to you with updates on scheduling for your conference. This year, the format is either in-person or virtual. However, whatever format you choose, we will expect parents/guardians to commit to the format selected. If you are unable to make your in-person meeting, you will not be able to change the format. Conferences are tightly scheduled. Please adhere to your scheduled time on the day of your conference.
The schedule is below:
- 11/17 5:30-8 pm
- 11/18 12:30-3 pm (Half Day)
LUCE MUSICAL AUDITIONS
Fourth and fifth-grade students are invited to audition for the Luce Musical, The Claw. Auditions will take place Thursday, November 3, or Friday, November 4 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at Luce.

Project 351 Food Drive
Jasmine Findlen and Tara Geoghan will be hosting a food drive November 8-23 in support of the Canton Food Pantry. Please consider donating generously at any of the donation bin locations found in the flyer below. Our bin will be next to the principal's office in the lobby. Even 1 can will make a difference to all the families that use the pantry prior to Thanksgiving. You may also make monetary donations through PayPal on the pantry's website. The food drive team has also created an Amazon Wishlist if you would like to order food from there and ship it directly to the pantry. Thank you!

Upcoming Programs and Events
- CAPT is calling all volunteers! We need volunteers for the circus, carnival, Holiday shoppe, and fun run asap. Without volunteers, we may need to cancel these events.
- Don’t forget to fill out your membership form and pay your family dues for the year!
- The friendship Directory is coming soon- sorry for the delay as we worked through some logistics.

MUSIC COUNTS! and the Canton Performing Arts Department proudly present Cantonstock 2022 on November 5th 12-4pm.
Cantonstock is the annual music extravaganza that showcases hundreds of student musicians representing all performing ensembles in the Canton schools, and is the primary fundraiser for MusicCounts, the volunteer, non-profit group dedicated to supporting all music programs in all the Canton Public Schools! The mission is to raise funds for music programming for all students!

K-5 Curriculum Overviews (Repost)
Elementary Curriculum Overviews
Information about the curriculum taught at each grade level in core subjects; English/Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies, can be found in the new Curriculum Overviews that are available on the District website. They have been translated into Arabic, Chinese, Haitian Creole, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese. If you need a different language, please contact Deborah Rooney at rooneyd@cantonma.org or your child's teacher.
