The goal is to create spaces that are:
- Theme based (Curriculum meets Career and Technology Edu)
- Collaborative (Productive multi-purpose spaces)
- Technologically Advanced (Hardware and Software Options)
- Innovative (Layout and Design)
Theme Based with Curriculum Based CTE Communities
Visualize: Indoor "CTE strand focused atrium" areas surrounded by content specific student centered classroom areas that integrate core and CTE specific instructional requirements. Each community of spaces opens with glass dividers into a large hands-on collaborative space focusing on one of the 12 CTE strands.
Collaborative Multi-Purpose Spaces
Visualize: Student centered groups that allow students to "mirror" individual mobile devices for small group student led instructional opportunities based upon curriculum and CTE strand instruction. Focus on Project Based Learning (PBL)
Advanced Technology (Hardware Specific)
Visualize:
- Workspace LCD Monitors with "mirroring" capabilities
- White board style desks, walls and partitions that allow "dead" space to come to life
- Students working with mobile devices moving from core instruction to recording videos, taking images, and creating instruction based portfolios and repositories for CTE strand certifications and examinations.
- Use of a common Learning Management System to house cross curricular, CTE strand based collaborative activities, student created certification review groups/courses, and Professional Learning Communities within each "CTE strand focused atrium"
Innovative sight lines that inspire collaboration
