What's Up in the Classroom?
Spelling - We did not have our spelling sort groups this week due to no school tomorrow and a Bazinga Day on Tuesday. Instead, we've been working on removing words from the "no excuse" word list. Students are doing a nice job knocking words off their lists. We even have a few who have all 500 done!
Reading - This week we've been doing a lot of research reading. Students are looking for information regarding their writing topics. Most are using the internet but some are using a combination of internet sources and books from the library.
Math - We are wrapping up our math unit on measurement and will be moving onto fractions next Wednesday. We will take Monday to review and Tuesday to test the students.
Social Studies - Students have been busy with their "Wisconsin Era's" lessons. Not only are they watching videos and answering focus questions, they are also creating a Google Slide Show to display their knowledge. It's a lot of work but it's coming along nicely.
Writing - Students are continuing on with their informational/explanatory writing pieces. They should be done by next week. Along with the report, they will make a Kahoot to play with the class. A Kahoot is basically a test that the students make to quiz each other on their knowledge of what they've learned.
