Week of March 9-13th

Big Thank You!

Thank you so much for all of the generosity put towards our Immigration Museum and Festival! I was so happy to see so many of our parents attend! Thank you also for dedicating your time to cook and make this event so special! It means so much to all of the grades. Take a look at the pictures below to see what fun we had!

What Our Week Looked Like...

Reading Workshop

Determining Importance was the focus of this week's reading. Ask students what we learned about spaghetti and determining importance. Students also met with their book clubs and practiced various skills around them!

This week we worked on Fractions, Fractions, and More Fractions! We practiced skills such as converting fractions to decimals, multiplying fractions, and finding equivalent fractions. Students have been working on through task cards, games, and small-group work to attain and secure these skills.

Writing Workshop

This week we focused on completing our Literary Essays. Students are working on creating a thesis and reasons that is centered in a book of their choice. This week we gathered evidence and began to draft our essays!

Social Studies - Special Guest Speaker!

This week we were lucky enough to have Audrey's Dad come in and speak to our class regarding immigration! The class was able to ask questions about what immigration was like today. We got such amazing insight and were so lucky to have that experience!
