Rise to Fame

Salvatore began studying shoemaking in Naples. Soon after, Ferregamo moved to California where he began designing shoes. His shoes became a hit with celebrities and this is where his career took off.


After moving to California, Ferregamo returned to Italy where he founded a company that designed unique/handmade footwear.

Fun Facts

Ferregamo designed the iconic "Ruby Slippers" in the movie The Wizard of Oz.


Salvatore created the wedge heel and the cage heel.
