Parking Lot Woes!

You may have noticed or heard that Hawthorn’s School Resource Officer, Officer Paret, has been present every morning during parent drop off this past week. I want to assure you that he is here to observe parent drop off, make recommendations on traffic flow, and reinforce parking lot expectations. There are no other police matters at Townline that you should be worried about.

We are attempting to put practices into place to make students safe since there are some concerns that need addressing:

~Parents on cell phones while on school property (it’s against the law to be on a cell phone on or near school property)

~Dropping off students in the middle of the parking lot unsupervised

~Speeding on school property

~Cars parked in front of the school during high volume drop off times

If you drop your child off in the morning, please be sure students exit the car on the right side. You may have to switch car seats around and unlock the rear door child safety locks. This will prevent parents from getting out of the car to open the rear door; thus, holding up the line of cars.

Your cooperation is appreciated!

Band and Orchestra Camp!

Mark your calendars! Hawthorn's Summer Band and Orchestra camp will be accepting enrollment soon. To help you plan your summer, this two-week camp will run from July 18th-29th. The camp meets at Middle School South from 8:30 until 2:00 Monday-Friday and is open to any Hawthorn student that has at least one year of experience performing in an instrumental music ensemble. More information will be available soon!
