Community Week at a Glance - January 11

Cross Keys Redistricting Meeting - January 19 6pm (Theatre)

Druid Hills High will be hosting a community meeting to present redistricting options to address overcrowding in the Cross Keys Cluster. The community will have an opportunity to voice their comments on the proposed options at these meetings.


The affected schools include Briar Vista ES, Cary Reynolds ES, Chamblee HS, Cross Keys HS, Dresden ES, Fernbank ES, Montclair ES, Warren Tech, and Woodward ES. Final recommendations on redistricting will be presented for approval at the March 2016 Board Meeting.

Film Festival

The Druid Hills Film Festival will be held on Thursday, March 4 and Saturday, March 6. It’s open to all grades and a variety of different schools, including elementary (3-5) and middle. ​


We need to know who’s interested in submitting a film as soon as possible! Interest forms are in the Main Office. All submissions must be G or PG and no longer than 5 minutes.


The interest form submission deadline is January 29, with the film submission deadline on February 19.

MARTA Discounted Cards Available

Druid Hills High School now has a partnership with MARTA that allows us to sell discounted 10-trip cards for students to use in their travels to and from school. Please direct students in need to the Main Office - cards are $16.

Applerouth - Mock SAT & SAT Classes

The new semester brings a new SAT (debuting in March). There will be a MOCK SAT administration Saturday, January 16 at 9am in the Cafeteria. Interested students must register in advance. SAT classes begin Tuesday, January 19 at 3:30.

Nathan's Driving School

Nathan's Driving School will offer on-site driver's ed classes beginning March 7 (Mondays and Wednesdays through May 2). To celebrate our partnership, Nathan's is holding a contest. Interested students have until February 15 to submit a 500-word (maximum) essay on "Why Driver Education is important to teenagers" to the Main Office.

1st place: free course

2nd place: $100 discount

3rd place: $50 discount
