Bio
They are slim birds with a small head, they are similar in size to crows. Peregrines can reach speeds up to 320 km-h in a dive. Their prey range in size from sparrows to large birds such as ducks. In Alberta, they nest on ledges or office buildings. There lifespan is up to 13 years.
Risk Factor
Pesticides have caused a worldwide decrease in the population. This can cause weak eggshells and dead embryos. The pesticides don't only harm them, but other animals down the food chain.
Outlook
Populations of these birds have spiked up and down across the world. Alberta has had a severe decline. These bit will nest almost anywhere, on buildings, bridges, offices, and statues. These places are not safe for them
