Bucket Fillers
- HEARTFELT LOVE & GRATITUDE to our PE Team, Theresa, Chuck, and Sam for an incredible Jump Rope for Heart! : The American Heart Association truly helps save lives - and the participation from MBES over the years has been an incredible contributor! This year, we raised at least $20,000! Way to go!
- KUDOS to Our PLC's for working on the work! In a school our size with the volume of activity that transpires on a daily basis, it is amazing to have teams who work so diligently to ensure effective communication and completed initiatives!
- HATS OFF to Gloria Frey, winner of the Foundation's Arleen Taffel Award for her dedication to Mt. Bethel and the Foundation!
- APPLAUSE to All Who Came to the Foundation's Annual Meeting! As you are well-aware, The Foundation provides tremendous resources to our staff and school - and we could not operate to the level that we do without their support!
- RAVES to ALL who attended O-G Training! Our Kindergarten, First Grade, and Small Group Teachers attended 8 days of training and have really embraced Orton-Gillingham methodology! If you would like to see what it looks like, don't hesitate to ask one of those who were trained

Placement for 2017-18
If you have a student at Mt. Bethel, we will place a form in your box within that window for you to provide placement input. You will be asked to request three names of teachers with whom you think your child will be successful.
If you receive a request for a "placement meeting," an appropriate response would be: "Placement requests are handled through the MBES placement form and not through teacher conferences. Administration reads each form and students are placed carefully based on a multitude of factors. The forms are for parents to provide input. As a teacher, I provide input, as well, as we strive to create balanced classes. All of the teachers at our school are great!
Ms. Appleyard has asked that we not honor placement meetings to ensure common procedures, equity throughout the school, and to allow teachers time to focus on planning instruction. As a parent, you are encouraged to fill out the form candidly based on your child's needs for success."
