Family Update
Davis Middle School
Friday, May 20, 2022
Happy Friday Davis Families,
I hope this note finds you all well. Time is winding down with just one week remaining in the school year. It is hard to believe that my first year as the principal of Davis is almost complete. I look forward to a bit of time to reflect when things slow down in the building over the summer but I can tell you without hesitation that this year has certainly been the highlight of my education career so far and I am already looking forward to building on our partnership between home and school.
As we near next Friday, a few things to note:
- School Supply Kits can be ordered through June 3...the information is below
- The last day of school is a 1/2 day and students will be released at 11:48 AM. Lunch will be available as a grab and go to take on the bus or out the door to their rides or walking home.
Some weeks I add pictures to my newsletter to show you what has been going on at Davis, but today I wanted to share the video announcements from Student Council. Our Student Council was revamped a bit this year. Mr. Stagg and Mr. Martin have been amazing advisors and our students have done a fantastic job leading fun and change in our building. One of the committees includes the Communication Committee who are in charge of the announcements every day. This week's video shows you how great they do as well as gives a quick recap of the DC trip and Spring Fest. Thank you Student Council!
Have a wonderful weekend. Go Irish!
Jaime

Worthington Library Information
Summer Reading at the Worthington Libraries:
It’s almost summer reading time! See the link below for a video announcement regarding this summer’s reading program: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70OxnZUXhoA There is also an opportunity for students to become a summer library Volunteen! Is your child interested in: Giving back to the community? Working in a fun environment? Boosting their job and college applications? To volunteer at the Worthington libraries this summer, a student must be 12 years old or going into seventh grade this fall. They must also attend one orientation session and complete a Volunteen application prior to the orientation. Volunteens will help all ages register for the 2022 Summer Reading Club, hand out prizes, and encourage participants to read all summer long. They may also assist with other library programs and projects as needed. Click on the website below for more information.
