Latest SUII call for proposals

Accelerating progress towards the UN Global Goals

On 24 and 25 September 2019, Heads of State and Government gathered at the United Nations Headquarters in New York for the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development to review progress in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The goals are aimed at “mobilizing efforts to end all forms of poverty, fighting inequalities and tackling climate change, while ensuring that no one is left behind” - summarised as being all about “people, planet, prosperity, peace and partnership”.

The current SUII call for proposals seeks applications for projects that will accelerate progress towards the achievement of these goals in Scotland and the wider world. We are engaging with the SDG Network Scotland to include the views of a broad cross section of civil society in Scotland, and working in partnership with Zero Waste Scotland on areas of particular priority for them, including responsible consumption, responsible production and reduction of household food waste.

A background paper, Searching for a Sustainable Future, is available on our website.

Applications are invited from programme teams which bring together academics and policy makers and practitioners, and must include members from at least two SUII partner universities.

The deadline for expressions of interest is Friday 25 October, with full applications due by 25 November. Prospective applicants are welcome to get in touch with us for advice ahead of submitting an application.
