A Visit With Sister Genevieve

Sister Genevieve Ibedu (SHCJ) came to visit the Class of 2016 on Wednesday, December 2. She described the the Holy Child College in Lagos, Nigeria where she works, and shared pictures of her "wonderful, mischievous" students.

She spoke with us about the values of the Holy Child nuns: simplicity, humility, charity, and joy. She also taught us the meaning of her last name, Ibedu: "one can never stand alone, united we stand."

Before coming to Mayfield, Sister Genevieve had never baked cookies, she learned how to bake them from the kindergarteners this year. "We can all learn from each other," she told us, " and you have changed my life forever by welcoming me into your community."

Christmas Cookie Snack Bar!

Student Council is hosting a Christmas Cookie and Hot Cocoa Snack Bar during morning recess on Tuesday, December 8.

Everything is $1 and all profits go to Reach Out. Cookies will be catered by Meghan Sullivan's Bake Shop: Sugar Fairy!

Christmas Concert

St. Andrew Church

We hope that you will attend this special event so that we may celebrate the season together! This beautiful concert is a Mayfield tradition, and never fails to impress.

Only 8th grade students who are involved in Chamber Choir, Student Council, and/or Rock Band will be participating in the Christmas Concert. Rehearsals will be during the normal school day and regular after school meeting times, as to not interfere with preparation for final exams.

We are proud of our multi-talented students who are able to balance arts, athletics, and academics, and we look forward to an impressive display of their musicality at the Concert.
