Semester 1 yearbook students have worked on setting the foundation of the yearbook: they've decided on the theme and topics for this year's book.
They've also worked to increase student coverage (# times a student is featured in the yearbook other than just their portrait) and have been working to get interviews for the ACD (all coverage device) that'll be featured and new in the book this year.
Check out more information on the "Yerd" website!
In the comedy improv elective this semester, students are learning the rules of improvisation (acceptance, listening, urgency, and teamwork). Each week a member of our troupe leads the warm-up activity (Zip-Zap-Zop, Ball Toss, etc) and then we play an improv game, such as Who's Line, Party Quirks, or Foreign Film. Over the last few months, we have become a troupe of talented comedians! Thank you parents for providing snacks!

A Visit With Sister Genevieve
She spoke with us about the values of the Holy Child nuns: simplicity, humility, charity, and joy. She also taught us the meaning of her last name, Ibedu: "one can never stand alone, united we stand."
Before coming to Mayfield, Sister Genevieve had never baked cookies, she learned how to bake them from the kindergarteners this year. "We can all learn from each other," she told us, " and you have changed my life forever by welcoming me into your community."
