School Picture Day

Photographers from LifeTouch will be at Oak Grove this Monday to take yearbook portraits. Pictures will be taken between 9 am and 1 pm. Picture day order envelopes were sent home earlier, and we still have plenty of order forms available in the office. Please e-mail if you need us to send another form home with your child. Mark your calendars to make sure your child attends school on Sept. 20!

Library News

Throughout the school year, students work on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activities in the library. These challenges teach problem solving, collaboration, and perseverance. Growth Mindset is something we always talk about since these challenges can be difficult. Check out this Growth Mindset alphabet that can be used with any problem.

Meet Ms. Morris, Speech-Language Pathologist

This is Ms. Jessica Morris. She is brand new to the Turner School District and to Oak Grove Elementary. She is our Speech-Language Pathologist for Kindergarten through 5th grade. Ms. Morris graduated from Wichita State University with her Master's in Speech-Language Pathology. She worked for another school district in Kansas for 2 years with early childhood special education students ages 2-5 years old before coming to Turner. She loves seeing the students and working with them everyday, even though speech therapy can be hard when wearing a mask! She loves to dance, sing, do Zumba, and spend time with her friends. She also loves her 10-year-old rescue dog, Raina, family, and friends. She is very thankful for having the opportunity to work in such a great community and school district.

PTA loves being able to help Oak Grove each year with classroom grants, school equipment, special learning supplies, carnivals and events, etc. This year will be no different! To accomplish this, we need the help of the parents, grandparents, staff and community to please join PTA so we are able to help our students and teachers and try to make this year feel as normal as possible! This year, you are able to join and pay online through our MemberHub website below. Thank you in advance for supporting Oak Grove PTA! 💚
