Here's a message from Mr. Suffoletto about Bald for Bucks:
A few weeks ago a student came up to me and introduced himself as Ian Avery. I asked him what I could do for him and he told me how he was doing this event here at school called Bald for Bucks, a fundraising program in which participants shave their heads to raise money for a local cancer center.
So I said, "OK. So you're looking for sponsors?"
Then he said, "Well, I talked to Mr. Widor about it, and he said that you would be more than happy to participate in shaving your head."
And then it dawned on me: I went running with Glenn a while back and in my overly-confident youth I made a joke about him being old, slow, and bald. I would tell you more, but what happens on a running trail stays on a running trail. I am of course glad to still have a job, but it seems Glenn was just biding his time to get his revenge.
So I clearly deserve this, and I'm going Bald for Bucks along with Ian Avery here at school on Tuesday, 11/20 (right before the Thanksgiving break) during 4th block. So this email is to ask our community for any financial support for this event from any of you who feel so inclined. I'm registered on the website below.
You can click "donate," and I think it would actually be cool if we all sponsored Ian instead of me. Ian already is at his personal goal of $500, but I bet we can at least double that for him to achieve the team goal of $1000.
Any donation large or small will be greatly appreciated.
peace and love
