St. John Lutheran School exists to nurture children in faith and intellect, equipping them for Christian lives of service.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest."
A Slice of “Spiritual Bread” for the Christian Home . . .
Love is patient. Love is kind. Love does not envy. It does not brag. It is not arrogant. It does not behave indecently. It is not selfish. It is not irritable. It does not keep a record of wrongs. I Corinthians 13:4-5
What is your definition of “Love in Christ?” What is your picture of “Christian Love in Action?” If we took to the streets and asked these questions, we would get a wide variety of answers ~ some good and others tough to swallow.
In the text before us today, the inspired pen of the Apostle Paul answers both of them. This portion of God’s Word tell us first of all what “Love in Christ is” and what “Love in Christ is not.” In doing so, he also speaks to “Christian Love in Action.”
Tonight as you are looking for a good portion of God’s Word to discuss with your family at devotion time, consider using this section of Scripture. Pray for the Lord’s guidance and ask for his blessing in making this text a “Theme Verse” for your Christian home and lives.
Have a great day and may Jesus always keep you in His care!
With Love in Christ,
Jon Woldt, Principal

Theme for 2020
Stranger Things is a hugely popular science fiction series on Netflix. Using Stranger Things as our theme, during our morning devotions, we are going to be studying some of the "upside down" things Jesus said during his Sermon on the Mount. Upside down things like "turn the other cheek," "love your enemies," "don't store up earthly treasures," "don't worry," and "don't judge others."
