Lincoln Crossing Colt Connection
January 20, 2019
Mrs. Hladun's Tidings
We hope you enjoy your long weekend - there is no school on Monday as we honor Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday. We look forward to welcoming our Colts back to school for a regular day on Tuesday, 1/22/19.
Last week, we hosted our LCE Spelling Bee - bravo to Alessandra and Allie for being our two top spellers. One of them may selected as a representative from our district at the County Bee. Good luck, ladies!
There are so many fun PTC activities coming up this sping:
- PTC is hosting a "Crazy Sock Skate Night" on 1/23 at Roller King - click here for the flier
- Chick Fil A Family Night is on 1/29 from 4-8 pm - no flier is needed!
- Boots and Bling Sweetheart Dance - find the save the date flier here
A reminder that all 2018-19 yearbook order forms must be turned in by the end of January! We only order a few extra, so be sure to order yours in advance! Here is the order form!
Lock Down Drill / Barracudas
This week, many families reached out to me to see about helping to purchase additional barracudas for our classrooms. I have been in touch with the church (Summit Church) that made the original purchase for the district to find out about pricing and the vendor. In the coming week, I hope to have a system set up for us to take donations towards purchasing additional devices for those families who would like to support this initiative. In addition, it seems that the church may have a few extra devices on hand that they plan to give to us!
New Student Registration (including TK & K) for 2019-20 School Year
New student registration for the 2019-20 year is almost here! This is especially important for Transitional Kinder (TK) and Kinder (K) programs, which traditionally fill up quickly at LCES. Please share this information with your friends and neighbors with new TK/K students!
There are three parts to registration:
1. online registration forms must be completed (click the link below on/after 2/1);
2: documentation must be gathered (click the link below for details on what to bring);
3a. NEW FAMILIES: all paperwork must be turned into the LCES school office (we start taking registrations at 7 am on Mon., 2/11/19).
3b. CURRENT/RETURNING LCES FAMILY: if you are a current LCES family (or you have an older child who attended LCES), your turn in deadline will be Friday, 3/1/19 at 4 pm.
Current LCES TK families who have older siblings at LCES fall into 3b above. LCES TK families who do not have older siblings at LCES fall into 3a above.
Our TK class will be filled using a lottery system (date TBD), so the exact order in which you turn in your registration materials does not impact your chances of getting into our class, but you'll want to get your forms in during February so that you don't miss the deadline for the lottery.
