End of Year Math Assessment
Language Arts
In reading comprehension this week, our focus was upon finding word meaning in context. We are thoroughly immersed in the reading of our beautiful, suspenseful, poignantly written new novel, Number the Stars, by Lois Lowry. Set in the 1940s in Copenhagen, it is captivating and moving for our fourth graders.
Math
Order of Operations is our focus. Which comes first and how do we compute? We are learning that there is only one way, and that is to follow the rules of the order of operations.
Social Studies
We are learning about the various taxations without representation in the 1700s, and how this ultimately led to the Revolutionary War.

Morah Ronit: This week in 4th grade we concluded all our hard work. We reviewed everything from vocabulary, verbs, infinitives to conversational Hebrew. The children also organized their folders so they can take them home and show all their wonderful work. They had so much fun reading their early work, and comparing their creative writing to their recent one.
Morah Mira: For the next two weeks of school we will review and practice everything we’ve learned throughout the school year. Additionally, every student was asked to choose their favorite story that we’ve read this year and present it in front of the class using either puppets, google slides, a poster board, or simply by acting it out.
PE
We are excited that next week is reward week for 4th grade having the best behavior over the second half of the year. We also have field day on Tuesday! Bring your sunscreen and H2O!!!
