Little Free Libraries
Have you seen the little houses on our school campus and around Rock Hill with books inside?
These are called Little Free Libraries. Little Free Library is a national organization that was started to spread the love of literacy throughout communities using the take a book to read and leave a book to read concept. As a school, India Hook is responsible for keeping our Little Libraries stocked so we need your help!
During the week of October 24th-28th we will have our Scholastic Book Fair. In order to raise awareness of our Little Free Libraries, we would like to have “Buy a new book, Bring a gently used book” to donate to our Little Free Library program (you can donate a book even if you don’t purchase a book).
Each teacher will set a classroom goal and once the class reaches their personal goal they will get a classroom prize.

Notes from Nurse Bosdell
We wanted to reach out to you to let you know that like most schools in the United States, we have a number of students in our school that have potentially life threatening food allergies. Children with food allergies can have life-threatening reactions with exposure to even tiny amounts of allergen. There are certain guidelines that need to be followed to keep these students safe and ready to learn. We are asking for your help to provide the student with a safe school environment.
1. -There will be special days and occasions that students may want to bring a snack to share. Please call the teacher for “allergy safe” suggestions. All food products must be store bought with an appropriate food ingredient label. You must notify the classroom teacher 48 hours in advance if you plan to bring a snack in to the classroom. This will give the food-allergic child’s family an opportunity to provide their own safe snack. You may also consider sending/donating a book or game to the class in your child’s name or sending a non-food treat.
