WHAT ARE FOSSILS?
A fossil is made up by the remains of a living organism, for example,a plant or animal, which are preserved into rock.
WHAT TYPES OF ROCKS ARE FOSSILS FOUND IN?
Fossils are usually found in sedimentary rocks..
HOW ARE FOSSILS FORMED?
When an organism dies, the tissue of the organism decomposes and the hard bones and parts emerge into a fossil.
AN EXAMPLE OF FOSSIL FORMATION...

THE FORMATION OF A PLANT TO A FOSSIL
If a plant dies and falls into a body of water or a place without a lot of oxygen,it falls to the bottom and the sediment covers the plant.Over many years, the sediment layers the plant and it's weight increases, which increases the temperature the plant feels. All of the elements in the plant decay, except the carbon. Now the carbon left in the plant, left over time, changes into a fossil.
